Gold and Base Metals Associated with Uranium Mineralization in Some Lower Carboniferous Rock Units in the Wadi Abu El Mogheirat Area, Southwestern Sinai, Egypt

چکیده

The Lower Carboniferous sediments at Wadi Abu El Mogheirat consist of four stratigraphic formations, from base upwards: Um Bogma, Hashash, Magharet Maiah and Zarab formations. most-concentrated radioactive anomalies are in the middle member Bogma Formation. gibbsitic marl this formation shows highest uranium contents (around 710 ppm). Gibbsitic black gibbsite Formation show higher enrichment Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, U, V, Ce Th. Black contains total rare earth elements concentration, especially terms LREEs, while content HREEs. Anomalous gold recorded for first time (content: 10.4 ppm), (2.8 ppm) siltstones Hashash (0.6 presence uranothorite, celestite, zircon, atacamite, barite, xenotime rutile. These characteristic demonstrate that constitutes a potential source gold. This conclusion is reinforced by to exploit other metals such as Th by-products.

Uranium migration in Paleozoic lateritic Paleosol Samples, Southwestern Sinai, Egypt

This paper spotlights on determining the concentrations and distribution of radionuclides in paleozoic lateritic paleosol samples from El-Gor area, southwestern Sinai, Egypt, using high-resolution gamma spectrometry. The concentrations of eU (ppm), eTh (ppm), and K (in percentage) were determined. The obtained data of eU, eTh and their ratios were used for calculations of uranium migration tend...

Assessment of the renewable groundwater resources of Wadi El-Arish, Sinai, Egypt: modelling, remote sensing and GIS applications

Recharge of the alluvial aquifers flooring Wadi El-Arish in central and northern Sinai, Egypt was investigated. A hydrological model that combined the spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall, suitable infiltration parameters, and appropriate sub-basin unit hydrographs to estimate rainfall excess, transmission losses along stream networks, and downstream runoff was developed. The Wadi El-A...

Influence of cutting height and plant spacing on Sesbania (Sesbania aegyptiaca [Poir]) productivity under hyper-arid conditions in El-kharga Oasis, El-Wadi El-Gaded, Egypt

Search for an adapted forage species for feed production under existing marginal lands and harsh conditions is needed to overcome sever feed shortage in Egypt. Sesbania, Sesbania aegyptiaca (Sesbania sesban, L) has shown potential for forage production and being included in grazing systems, especially on marginal lands and salt–affected soils. An experiment was conducted in the summer of 2004 a...
